SUMMER READING is on!!!
Dragons, Dreams & Daring Deeds! Summer Reading 2005 will "joust" off with this theme and the libraries are making sure that every youngster in the county will be counted for when we kick off the event on June 16, 2005 at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library with the presentation of the Madcap Theater of The Fantastic Fairytale Show at 6:00PM. Among the presenters during the six weeks program are: Peter Edgerton, Fashoo, the Fool and the Appalshop.
The Bookmobile will be having two scheduled stops each Friday throughout summer reading. At each stop there will be a story, activities, and a snack.
The first stop will be located in the parking lot behind the millstone post office at 11:00 am. The second stop will be in the parking lot across from JeremiahMissionary Baptist church at 1:00 pm.
This year’s theme is Dragons, Dreams, and Daring Deeds
So come out and enjoy the fun

X Walker to speak on August 19at 6:30 PM. One of Kentucky's
premier poets will read from his book, Affrilachia And Buffalo
Dance at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library Conference Room
at 6:30 PM, Friday. The event is free and is sponsored by the Library,
The Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives and The Kentucky
Humanities Council.Mr. Walker is a founding member of Affrilachia
Poets and an advocate for social justice. Mr Walker's presentation
is a part of WRITE Workshop,
Frank presented at the La Casita Festival(Lincoln Center Out of Doors Series) in New York, August 2003.
