Check out the 2nd Annual Indian Summer Folk Festival on October 5,6,& 7, 2007 at the Little Shepherd Amphitheatre in Jenkins, Kentucky . Festival begins at 10:00AM each day and ends at 5:00 PM. Admission is free.

Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library celebrates Dr. Seuss birthday
Children
at the Main Library read stories of Dr. Seuss on his birthday , which
is on March 2. The Cat on the Hat , the most popular book
written by Dr. Seuss is fifty years old and the event was celebrated
at the library with a hat's party, read aloud stories and hat making
craft. The celebration event is part of the TOTS program of the library.
Children and their parents are urged to come to the Harry M. Caudill
Memorial Library every Thursday at 10:30 AM.

Parents and guardians can call any of the libraries to register their children for a fun hour at any of the libraries.
Blackey Public Library in cooperation with the Letcher Elementary School holds an outreach program at the school twice a month. Call 633 4013.
Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library
in Whitesburg: Every Thuirsdays at 10:30 AM. Call 633 7547.
On Wednesdays are outreach programs: at the Montessori School at 10:30 AM and a Toodler Program at the Appalachian DayCare Center at 2:00PM.
