On November 2, 2004 long lines formed at two precincts at the main library. Precincts were opened at 6:00 AM to accomodate hundreds of city voters who casted their ballots for the presidential race and other state and local candidates.

The Main Library has been utilized as a polling place for local and national election this year and during the past.
