eBooks ARE NOW HERE!!

Did you get an iPad for Christmas? Or maybe a eReader like the Barnes and Noble Nook or Amazon Kindle? You can now borrow books from the library's eBook collection! The library is using the Overdrive service to provide eBooks, music, and movies, so you can download them from home!

You can view the tutorial videos to assist you to download books, music, and films for your specific device. You can find more help for your computer, Mac or PC here.

CELEBRATE NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK

All the County libraries will waive overdue fines from April 14 to May 14, 2013.

Visit any library, write a book reveiw and receive a free book and enter a raffle contest for a $25.00 dollar Walmart card to be drawn on May 14.


We are mindful of the unemployment issue in the county and we hope that this database will assist displaced workers.

JOIN ARTS AND CRAFTS CLUB

Crochet Club will meet every Wednesday at the main library at 5:-6:00PM. Yarns and instructions are free. Just bring your crochet hooks and start hooking for those wonderful Christmas and birthday presents. Gail Fugate and Tessa Caudill (Staff) will teach the class.



 

We are a Public Library Workforce Center: A federal grant of $29,000 money was awarded to the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library to upgradeour computer facilities tohelp our citizens attain computer literacy, resume writing, basic computer skills, online job searches, filling up online employment applications, orientation to unemployment benefits, and basic health care information that they may obtain employment.

With grant money, the library has purchased 10 laptops for training and has contractetrainers to teach computer courses.

All classes will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesdays at the Computer Lab of the Library (Second Floor)
April classes
April 9:
Students will lern how to effectively use social networking in today's society. THis calss will cover several different forms of social networking.
April 23: In this class we will cover how to get photos from the camera to the internet for others to see.

March classes
March 12 : Students will learn the basics of using Microsoft Word by learning how to use templates, change the font color amd sie and how to create a flyer. They will also learn that creating a resume in Word is a very esy process.


March 26 : Students will learn to navigates their way around eBay. They will learn how to search for items they are interested in purchasing and will get an overview of how to sell rgeir items.

February classes
February 2: Students will set up and begin to use email. Lessons will cover how to set up a contact list, how to send and receive attachments, and how to organize the inbox to make things easier to find.
February 5 and 19: Hands on exercices
February 26: Students will learn laptop maintenance or PC's. Topics will include battery life, proper cleaning methods and how to clean the hard drive and insure that it works to its maximum.

January classes
January 15: Students will learn about the various parts of a computer, An overview of the Internet will be discussed and its impact.
January 29: Students will be introduced to the Internet and will learn how to utilize this great device.
January 8 and 22: Hands on Exercises.

December classes
December 4: ITunes abd Pinterest: 3 hours of instruction on how to set up and use both ITunes and Pinterest. Students will learn how to use ITunes to download songs nd videos to their mobile divices. THey will learn how to use Pinterest to organize their favorite craft ideas and recipes.
December 11: Hands on exercises
December 18: Everything about computers. Students will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have that was not covered in the previous classes.

November classes
November 6, 2012 Learn how to share photos on line. Lessons will focuse on how to po9st photos from the camera tinto the internet.
November 13, 2012: Hands on exercises.
November 20, 2012: Basic Job searching. Lessons will be on how use the internet to find a job. We will cover websites that contain job listings and we will use and access.these databases
